Vericut, ptc version

I have been using vericut in pro manufacturing to check tool paths and nc check. We are looking at adding some of the other features that vericut has to offer other than the basic package the comes with pro manufacturing. I want to be able to use my modeled tool holders to check for clearances and also do some reverse g code simulation. Does cgtech only sell packages or can you buy bits and pieces you need. I don't think that I need to have the whole machine tool thing. What is the most popular funtions that people use? I know that there is other things on the cgtech web site that I don't know about.

you can use std vericut license for defining tool in the tool manager.

and also do some reverse g code simulation.

you can simulate g-code with the std vericut license
the control files must be set up properly.
the machine sim is for making the machines animate

related to holders, we use  machine sim, to detect colisions with 90-degree heads.

that is an added module, but for us, it was well worth it.

I would call your sales rep
sometimes, they dont allways have the exact "bundle" you want, but if enough people ask, ......

Re: Vericut, ptc version

CNCWhiz,

Regarding your question at MCAD Central and saving your colors, etc (having trouble getting on that site this morning), here is something you can try:

Get your Vericut session the way you want it (colors, motion settings, etc) and then do a File>Save User.  Locate the .usr file you just created and rename it to proe.usr.  Put it in your ProE folder at loadpoint\i486_nt\vericut.  There will already be a proe.usr file there, so you probably should back it up just in case.  These will become the defaults Vericut uses when launched from Pro.

Save a copy of this file somewhere, as each time you upgrade ProE it will overwrite your 'custom' proe.usr file.
