Not Smooth in rotating

We are using Vericut 5.4.4 that has been installed in good enough hardware specs;with a Certified Workstation, 4gigs Memory, 256MB nVidia Quadro FX 3400/4400.But after each verify/auto diff done, It was not smooth when rotating the models. Sometimes it can not rotated by the mouse.

Please anyone help us for this case.

Re: Not Smooth in rotating

This is a question that comes often from new user. We are used in our CAD/CAM systems to rotate/zoom in real time as we need.

The main difference in VERICUT is the amount of details displayed on the screen. Every single tool motion will generate some geometry and some history for the cut. All the data gathered for the cut part have to be accessed to redraw the part after it is moved. This is the main delay.

To avoid longer delay, VERICUT is re-drawing the part in a less detailed mode (faster). The more precise mode will be activated if the cutting is resumed or if the Refine button is pressed (icon looking like an eye).

In VERICUT 6.0, it will be possible to use OpenGL in the Workpiece view for a smoother rotation and zooming.

Tips and trick:
If I machine a large part, I usually create 2 or 3 views oriented so I can quickly see the features I need without having to rotate the part.

Also Zooming in an additional window will be faster than zooming on the main window. On the Zoom icon, right-click (the icon will change), pick and drag the area you want to zoom, it will open in another window.

Re: Not Smooth in rotating

We have compared the current version with the older ones (4.1, 4.2 etc) for rotate model, that in these version rotating there was no problem.

We will try what you've recomended me. Thank you for that.
