Auto License Check in

All
Currently a team of 7 programmers have access to 1 probing license.
Naturally if all a running projects that require the probing license there will be availability issues.

As Vericut only allocated the license when a probing cycle is called we can manage the license availability by pausing the simulation & checking the license in once the probing sections have been completed thus freeing up the license.

Does anyone know of a way of automatically checking a license at a given flag in the NC code?

I'm sure CGTech would much prefer us to purchase additional licenses but this seems an expensive luxury.

Re: Auto License Check in

Hello Matt,

We have asked exactly for that at a VUE a few years ago.  The answer we got is HAHA! HAHA! HAHAHA!

Technical support was supporting us but I guess they prefer us buying more licenses.

Hopefully that will be availlable in the future.  But don't hold your breath for it.

Well... I've learned that crashing a probe, a single one, is a way more expensive luxury...

Re: Auto License Check in

I agree, also the auto diff should release, maybe with a quick toggle would be nice.

Re: Auto License Check in

You can always manually release a license without the need to close VERICUT through the menu entry "Help => License Information".

Re: Auto License Check in

It would be nice to have a tab on the tool bar to release it / them.
Not so many clicks!

Re: Auto License Check in

Daniel,
Yes we understand where to go to release a license, nice illustration.
The auto diff when used grabs the license when you go to use it but wouldn't it be nice once you closed the window that it would automatically release the license.
And how to do that with probing, example when you call up a probe in your program it would grab the probing license and then when you do a tool change it would automatically release the license.
If this gets enough hits it maybe in the next release.
Chime in if you agree!

Re: Auto License Check in

I absolutely, 100% agree. I would also like to see the license auto-release. Seems like a no-brainer.

Re: Auto License Check in

This is definitely needed - auto release licensing for probing and Auto diff - Delcam been doing it for years.
