Hello,
I believe this is a serious bug in AUTO-DIFF in surface mode (tested in VERICUT 7.1 & 7.4):
Imagine there is a gouge with a uncut zone of the stock.
"Uncut zone" means that no tool has removed material in this zone.
For example: loading a precut *.vct file that already has a gouge.
Do AUTO-DIFF in "solid" mode ==> the gouge is displayed correctly.
Do AUTO-DIFF in "surface" mode ==> the gouge is NOT displayed at all!
Now enable the option “Report Uncut Differences” ==> the gouge is displayed correctly.
We expected AUTO-DIFF in "surface" mode to always color uncut differences.
The “Report Uncut Differences” option should only be applied to the report (text) and not to the colors in the 3D.
This was reported to CGTech support and I hope it will be corrected in version 7.4.3.
In the meantime enable the option “Report Uncut Differences” at all time.
Quick way of testing this:
- open any project
- move the design partially out of the stock
- click single step so the cutstock is made (still uncut)
- do AUTO-DIFF in "surface" mode with the option “Report Uncut Differences” disabled ==> no gouge is shown
Kind regards,
Lesley
