CANNOT FIND SPECIFIED TOOL COMPONENT: XXXX

So this just started happening with my NTX2000 Mill/turn machine. Can any one help will fix this. Very annoying.

So when it hits a tool change like this -   G00 T23050690
If reports this - CANNOT FIND SPECIFIED TOOL COMPONENT: 230506

It still picks up the right tool, but I can't figure out why it's looking for a component that's not even the right t#. It's dropping the last 2 digits. Can anyone maybe give me a hint of where I should be looking for this error?

Thanks

Re: CANNOT FIND SPECIFIED TOOL COMPONENT: XXXX

It could be a limitation of 6 characters on the tool name.

Try changing the program to a 6 digit tool number and see if the error goes away.

Re: CANNOT FIND SPECIFIED TOOL COMPONENT: XXXX

Thanks for the reply. So I tried removing the last 2 digits. Here's what I have now.

G00 T230506
It reports this - CANNOT FIND SPECIFIED TOOL COMPONENT: 2305

Very strange.

BTW - I changed it to a 2 digit number and no error. So, now the question is, how do I get rid of this. We use 8 digit FTN's here.

Re: CANNOT FIND SPECIFIED TOOL COMPONENT: XXXX

Is the T-word specified as T with 8 digits or not, if not, you need to change that.
Should be defined in the tool change macro if I remember correctly.

Re: CANNOT FIND SPECIFIED TOOL COMPONENT: XXXX

Hi,

Look at T word at Word Format mayube it's defined as Composite-Numeric, if yes what values are in Composite Format field. That could be also one of the reason why you are loosing this 2 digits.

Re: CANNOT FIND SPECIFIED TOOL COMPONENT: XXXX

Check if there´s a macro calling that component number in your CTL / SUB, and check if you have it on the machine tree...

Re: CANNOT FIND SPECIFIED TOOL COMPONENT: XXXX

I would like to thank everyone for all the replies. Sorry for the long reply time. I moved to another project. I haven't solved this issue yet, but apparently it does not effect the results of the simulation.

I appreciate everyone's input.
