Hey guys,
I have a passion for VERICUT software and I think a forum is one of the best ways, if not the best, to share ideas and influence the VERICUT community all over the world.
That being said, what can we do to help this to happen? A good reference is eMastercam... lot´s of knowledge flowing at every minute...
Not trying to be naïve because we know our community is much smaller... But I don´t think it has to be so sleepy...
Any ideas?

Its funny Daniel, I was thinking the same thing earlier today.
I'd really like to see the same "vibe" going here that is on eMastercam (but with less politics... LOL)
I agree, the numbers aren't the same, but the quality is...

If the software is working correctly and there are seldom questions, then there will be no increase in traffic

I think it's because Vericut users uses this forum just to take answers about some problems they had. We could try to share ideias, and don't just come here to solve problems.
Maybe I made something to help me, that could help others, and I didn't share this unless someone question that...

Stefan is right when he says VERICUT quality makes people not to come often. CGTech support and QA plays a key role on this, because of the quality of their services and product.
Every engineering software out there has bugs and problems, but CGTech does a better job in those fronts and this makes people not to have reasons to post here often.
With the new account creation rules, it will become a bit harder for non legit users to ask for help, and this will also reduce the flow. But it is what it is.
I´m more than supportive of users coming here to share doubts and approaches, but I admit that because I´m usually able to figure things out myself or through support, I don´t post that often asking for help... I guess I should lead by the example myself...

This forum is dead because no one posts here. It is also very cryptic looking. Cgtech guys should post helpful knowledge here with pics and graphics, and videos. There is no real reason why this could not be a vibrant community. The facebook page is one big advertisement too. At least you got the smileys into the 21st century.

What should I post here, when I have no problems?
It doesn't make sense to post just for the post

Cgtech's support is so fast and good, your problem is quicker solved by them than waiting for a reply on This forum. I deal with the UK office and i have nothing but compliments for them. A lot of software companies can learn a lot from the cgtech team.
Perhaps new users might benefit from some more tips and tricks

I believe Daniels post was more about sharing knowledge. Perhaps, if you find a better way to do something in Vericut, or perhaps would like to share an interesting project.
I agree with what he mentions about eMastercam. Whilst a Mastercam-centric forum, it is a great forum for discussion about CNC/Manufacturing.
I do totally agree about CGTech though. It is the best support I have encountered bar none. A very VERY good company to dela with.

Hi Daniel
Like you, I also have a passion for VERICUT software. Been using it since 1990. The forum is pretty good, but I agree more users make for a better round table discussion of topics. This is a user … or shall I say USER forum, so it’s kind of up to us users to plant some seeds and make it grow.
To your question what can be done?
----------------------------------------
* Each of us can make a brief speech at the VUE conferences, stating the benefits of user participation. There is a time at the end of VUE for open discussion.
* Each of us can ask people we know… industry peers… to give the forum a try.
* Each of us can ask try to come up with a tip, and a quality enhancement request periodically, to keep the content moving.
What can CGTech do? :lightbulb:
-------------------------
* Add the ability to add pictures that say a thousand words… this is critical… me thinks.
* Colors and fonts are helpful, as with bullets
* CGTech can also make a brief speech at the VUE conferences
* Global Web discussions. This works. I run the CATIA COE for NC, and I get 60 people from all about when we do a broadcast.. I imagine Vericut could bring in better numbers as the users are CATIA + all the other cam systems. The topics would primarily be about trying to reach some consensus on some of the enhancement ideas. When we do this for COE… it does NOT bind Dassault to implement what we want. But it does help refine the specifications and you would be surprised to see new ideas come out, when you get a group discussion on a few narrow topics. I proposed this a while back, but it is worth bringing up the topic again.
Good topic Daniel… thanks for bringing it up. :2 thumbs up:
Best Regards
