Collision check of the holder.

There does not appear to be a way to collision check the holders vs the cutter.  We only have TOOL currently.

We need to have a holder collision check against the stock.  Often the stock walls may have up to .060 excess.  Vericut shows it clears with perfect models, but in the shop we get collisions with the holders and stock.

We would like some way to check the HOLDER part of a tool with a collision tolerance value while leaving the cutter at 0.

Priority, medium.

Re: Collision check of the holder.

V,

My understanding is, near miss does not apply to the "cut stock" since it keeps changing

What I do is set an additional near miss against the design, rather than stock.

I put a finish model in design, in stl form and be sure to make it visible.

You will see near misses to the finish part that way

If that is not good enough, make the holder a little bigger than it really is.

Than if you get too close, the oversize holder will accually hit the cut stock.

Hope this helps
