CSYS in multiple setups

I want to start using VeriCUT to inspect my parts in a little more detail, particularly checking hole depths, threads etc. I have developed a method whereby I create a CSYS at the mouth of the hole, activate the CSYS and then section the hole so I can start checking it with V-caliper. But my projects regularly have 2, 3 or even setups so I am wondering if a CSYS created in setup1 and be easily copied over to the subsequent setups?

Re: CSYS in multiple setups

If I understood right, just button right at CSYS do you want to copy, and "Copy"....and "Paste" in the correct setup...

Re: CSYS in multiple setups

Thanks for that Igor. I had no idea that you could copy & paste a CSYS. Just need to find out if the stock transition is taken into account - all the CSYS I want to copy are attached to the stock so it's possible.

Kind regards

Re: CSYS in multiple setups

I tried the copy & paste for CSYS and it's true, you can copy a CSYS from one set-up to the next. However, the CSYS are not re-positioned in accordance with the Stock Transition despite being attached to the Stock.

Does anyone have any other ideas? Hopefully it is going to be something simple (but being VeriCUT, I doubt it).

Re: CSYS in multiple setups

Bob,

1) Copy & Paste First S/U
2) Reset Model
3) Go to Play Button (Click Right Mouse Button)- Add Stop at - End Of Each Setup
4) Play Vericut First S/U (will stop on the end of 1 s/u)
5) Then use Step Button until program will jump to 2nd S/U
6) Change Program File and Tool files to 2nd s/u
7) I usually change 2nd S/U to G55 (Rename -G54- to G55 and change - G-Code offset - to G55)
8) Translate & Rotate all Models in 2nd s/u to position
9) Save, Reset and Play.

Re: CSYS in multiple setups

Hi Mitch.

That is pretty much what I am doing, but the CSYS do not follow the translate & rotate moves in step 7. I am bit of a VeriCUT novice and this might be a silly question, but is there any way of applying the translate & rotate to multiple models simultaneously? I have tried selecting them with CTRL pressed but the moves only apply to the last model selected.

Thanks for your help

Re: CSYS in multiple setups

Bob,

Yes you can move multiple models at once.
Select all models in Project Tree.

1) To Translate leave 0 0 0 in - From - Text Box, but click once on this box. (this will change Text Box to yellow color).
2) Then in Text Box - To - change numbers where you want to move (then click once and this will change Text Box color to yellow, also).
3) Last click Move button.

To Rotate

To rotate, I usually use - Angles  - text box, where I put for example   0 180 0  and Enter Key ( this Rotate about Y-Axis)
