I need to determine minimum gage length so my machine does not overtra

Hello,
First time poster...and new VC user.

My machine (Horizontal 4ax) is obviously overtraveling in Z- and I need to somehow be able to measure by how much in order to add that to the gage length and avoid overtravel.

Any help is very appreciated.

I assume you have gone to the training offered by Vericut on machine building, so contact you're teacher for the course or tech support. They will help you for sure.

Re: I need to determine minimum gage length so my machine does not overtra

the hands-on method would be to have your machine travel limits set to not allow motion beyond limit.  Set the Stop At options to stop on Errors.  Once the machine stops due to the error you can use the measure tool to measure from the end of your tool component down to the surface you're trying to cut.   It would be awesome if CGTECH would include a "Distance to Go" display in the Info/Status window to help out with issues like this.

I really don´t get why distance to go is not there yet... It´s such a basic concept that even 2D backplotters are currently offering...

Sometimes I wish CGTech could buy a seat of NCSimul and see how they are passing information to the users in their UI...
