Setting Defaults for Optipath

I would like to know how to set the default for optipath to not include the date/time stamp information at the top of the program.  Prior to 7.3, we did not have to select "no" for this option with every optipath created.  Often it is not done, and the machines won't start if the operator does not manually delete all that information at the top of the post or alternatively move the % to the very top of the program (in front of the time/date stamp).

Re: Setting Defaults for Optipath

Hello,

You may set it in two ways:

1- In control file - it will be turned off permanent - go to VERICUT menu Configuration > Control Settings > OptiPath & Curve Fit tab > and change YES to NO Add Date/Time Stamp to Optimized File

2- When you run OptiPath go to VERICUT menu OptiPath > G-Code Output Options >  change YES to NO Add Date/Time Stamp to Optimized File - it will work only once during simulation.

I think the firts solution will be better for You, but remember to save control file.

Best ragrds,
Pawel

Re: Setting Defaults for Optipath

#1 works for a given file, but doesn't become a default setting.  It does become a setting for that particular file, but what I would like for Vericut to do is to have this setting set to "no" for any given file that I open.  Right now, if I open a file created prior to 7.3, it is always set for "yes".  If I open an old file, set it to "no" and save the control file, then that setting does stick for the next time its opened.

I guess I would not care if the comments were there as long as the % wasn't moved as a result.  None of our machines can run the optimized files I post if I don't move the % or delete the comment - or just remember to set this setting to "no".

I still think that there has to be a way to get this done, any other ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
matt

Re: Setting Defaults for Optipath

That strange hmm

Are you sure, that when you are openinig this new project the control file is this one which you previous saved with this NO option?

You can check it using Info > File Summary.

Re: Setting Defaults for Optipath

Well there is the problem!  I see that some of our files are using a ctl file located in a different folder but have the same name.  This is what I needed, thank you Pawel!
