Using the Optional Tool Assignment List and Build Tool List

I have a question about the optional tool assignment list.  I must be using it wrong.  When building a tool list for a job and initially running the file everything seems to work fine.  However, if it is apparent that I require an additional sequence that uses a tool not built into that list I end up rebuilding the entire list.  By going into the Optional Tool Assignment List I can see all the tools and pot locations on the screen.  There is an add button.  I select the add button and add the tool that the additional sequence required and re-run the file.  Everything at this point looks straight forward.  Unfortunately, the new tool is not found and therefore is skipped.  Unless you "build tool list" again and lose all of the tools in the list.

There has got to be a way to add just the new tool, I just don't know how.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using the Build Tool List button to scan your nc code for tool change events ?
