Standalone Installation Of Vericut to work with ProE

What is the recommended procedure for installing Vericut to work with ProEngineer? Currently we install ProEngineer without the Vericut option included. Then on a user need basis I install Vericut from the CGTech supplied CD. I can successfully lauch and use Vericut on it's own but get this error when launching through ProE.

"Application VERICUT_DLL is not available or supported on this platform"

My current work-around is to install Vericut through PTC's setup application then edit the proev.bat to use the newer CGTech supplied version. It's as if I need to edit a few other PTC files to recognize the CGTech installation but I'm not sure what those files are.

Now for an easier question. Can I add the CGTech license codes to a FlexLM license file for Vericut to reference? Currently we use SentinelLM for other software and have been using that for Vericut as well but I'd like to explore if FlexLM is an alternative to SentinelLM.

You can refer to http://cgtech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=175 for your install questions.

For the license:
You cannot mix your SentinelLM with the FlexLM licenses. VERICUT is configured to work only with SentinelLM.

Re: Standalone Installation Of Vericut to work with ProE

Thanks Serge. I'll give that a try but I was more curious about if I could install ProEngineer without installing Vericut through ptcsetup.bat and just reference the CGTech supplied install.

It seems like installing Vericut twice, once through PTC's installer and once through the CGTech's install might not be right. If it is the correct way then I've been on the right track but I thought there might've been a way to do it just by using a CD from CGTech.

Also, thanks for clearing up the FlexLM/SentinelLM question.

Alex,
I think the only way to activate the Pro/E Interface to VERICUT is by installing VERICUT.

I think you want to do that anyway, because you may still want to use the embedded VERICUT at times.

In 5.4.4 we added the ability for the standard VERICUT to actually fire-up with the Pro/E VERICUT "embedded" features. You do no encure any license hit when this happens.
