G43 Not Working Quite Right

Hey everyone.

I'm running my Variaxis 630 with Matrix control on v7.0.3. With all of my port tools, for some reason, the driven point is not being read when G43 is called. All the other drills, endmills, and taps are working fine. This appears to be only on tools where the driven point is not the tool tip. I have the driven point defined in the Tool Manager, but when the tool runs, it goes to the right spot and makes the right motions, except when G43 is called, I get an error saying "Driven Point offset: 43, was not found" and the tool doesn't go to the right depth. It actually pecks like I want it to, but it doesn't touch the part. Is there something I am missing, or maybe this was something that was overlooked in this version? It was working fine when I had v6.1.2...

I set a tool offset in the Tool Offsets Table, which didn't have any visible effect.

Also, when I watch the simulation witht the Driven Point Zero on, the Zero seems to be in the right spot, until the G43 is called, at which point the Zero moves to the tip of the tool, which would explain why the tool doesn't touch the part. This is the same time I'm getting that error.

When I take the G43 out, the tool runs perfectly.

:?

Thanks!

Re: G43 Not Working Quite Right

Sounds like you are calling the length offset out while in the G43 definition table rather than in the H register and it is using the value 43 assigned to the Gvalue as your length offset value.  You can do it in the G43 but you need to assign a variable to the value in the H register to reference in the G43 definition.
