Use of a 3D Motion Controller to Jog in MDI mode

I use Vericut to simulate & verify G-code on 5 axis trimming machines. On challenging projects, it is essential to see the axis limitations with respect to the fixture. I find it combersome to jog the machine with the Machine Motion Jog dialogs X, Y, Z, C & B axis on complicated jobs.
I'd like to see the use of a 3D motion controller, such as 3D Connexion's Space Pilot, to be able to jog the machine in the MDI mode. It would be useful if the 3D motion controller could be used as a joystick to control, X, Y, Z, C & B axis.
