Licensing for V7.0

On a non-Vista server (such as Windows Server 2003 or Solaris) can Sentinel V8.0 or V8.1 be able to serve V7.0 licenses to client computers running Vericut 6.X or V7.0?  I'm understanding that Sentinel 8.2 is only needed if a Vista-based server is being used.  Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Licensing for V7.0

I would always update the license server to the latest version.

Re: Licensing for V7.0

I am pretty sure a VERICUT 7.0 license works on a Sentinel 8.x license server.
I am pretty sure it will not work on a Sentinel 7.x license server.

However, as stpendl suggests, you are best off using the license server version supplied with the VERICUT that matches your license version. I think I can almost guaranteed that the first step of the first tech support call you have regarding licensing will be to upgrade the server version to the correct one.

You are correct that a Vista computer requires Sentinel 8.2. Using an earlier Sentinel version on Vista will likely cause date-check problems to occur eventually, which will result in undesirable license denials.
