verify software opinion

Hi!,
in malaysia there a lot of mastercam users but not many (no one i know uses) use verification software. can anyone tell what they think about these software and is it really worth the price. how to use it to actually optimize it.
:?
I'm thinking to propose to offer vericut or metacut to be sold with Mastercam..... but my boss thinks these software exposes MC weakness and should no be sold. sad
I'm trying to convince him otherwise. I've downloaded a verify software demo and  and printning the guide now.....

Re: verify software opinion

Hello, we've been working with Mastercam users for some time in the US. As one of the VERICUT training instructors, I often propose this question to students that attended our classes. There many reasons people offer for choosing VERICUT for use with their CAM systems, however, the main reasons are as follows:

1.) Tool path optimization (OptiPath).

VERICUT has a wide array of optimization methods that control feed rates and spindle speeds based on volume of material removed, chip loads, surface contact of material on the tool, and more. You can choose to optimize cutting tools differently based on how they behave in different materials, or on different machine tools. Optimization can be performed at the click of a mouse button.

2.) Ability to verify postprocessed tool path data and machine tool behavior (for both CAM-generated and manually written programs).

The Mastercam-to-VERICUT Interface allows you to choose between verifying CL (NCI) or postprocessed G-code data. Workpiece (stock) material and cutting tools are brought from Mastercam into VERICUT making simulation of your NC programs an easy process. Verifying G-codes also makes it possible to catch errors introduced by a postprocessor, or problems intoduced by the machine tool, such as unusual rapid movement, unpredictable multi-axis positioning, tool path motions altered by the CNC control (via cutter comp., tool length comp., etc.) and more.

Hopefully this gives you some ideas to discuss with your customers.   --Gene
