[Solved] Pocket orientation in Tool chain

Hello,

I am a 2 months user of Vericut, I work with the 6.2.1. version of Vericut.
I am modeling a 5 axis Machine Tool and I have also to model the tool changer of this machine.
Nowadays, my model seems to be ok but I have some problems with the tool chain. Here is my trouble : I would like to configure the tool changer as in the right picture, but for now, I could only obtain the left configuration.

tool_changer1-copie-1.JPG

Tools are automatically disposed, perpendicular to the sweep file, but I would like them to be longitudinal to the tool changer. I can't find a solution and when I try to edit the pockets positions, Vericut tells me it's impossible to edit components of a tool chain.

So I would be very happy if someone could help me.

Thanks

Arnaud

Re: [Solved] Pocket orientation in Tool chain

The orientation on the right is not supported. It was implemented for chains where the tools are perpendicular to the profile plane. Sent you request to your Tech Support group and it could be considered in a future release.

Re: [Solved] Pocket orientation in Tool chain

If you really want to do it and have time to it  yikes  then you can have a look to C:\cgtech62x\samples\tool_changer4.VcProject.
This sample uses the old way to create a tool changer, it is more difficult but is more flexible, you modified the position/orientation of the tool component individually.

Have fun !

Re: [Solved] Pocket orientation in Tool chain

Ok, it doesn't matter if I have to define each pocket orientation and I have the time, I hope it's going to work with that solution.

Thank you very much for your help!
